Kantipur Film Academy (KFA) is an autonomous institution of film education and media arts located in Thapa Gaun, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu as well as the main hub for film fanatics, film personalities & film makers from around the world. Film field experts and professionals have joined hands to establish KFA and it is also officially collaborated with renowned film institutes around the world to render the students with proficient global exposure and international film cultures.

The history of film making dates back to the 1890s: Cinematic experience has meticulously prospered globally since then but Nepal still lags behind in this industry. Cinema reflects the heart of it’s country so we at KFA aim to develop outstanding visual storytellers, industry leaders, influences and scholars whose diverse and ground breaking voices and minds inspire change for a better cinematic world experience. We believe that films have the power to influence and change the perspective of every individual in the right direction so our mission is to augment the best knowledge, hand on experience and ecstasy that goes into film making requisite to pursue a professional career in this field to raise the bars for Nepali film industry.

That is why we at KFA facilitate intensive one year diploma courses on various disciplines of film education like Film Direction / Writing, Film Acting, Photography / Cinematography and Visual Editing / VFX with the aim to train the students to be competent film scholars, successful film entrepreneurs and most importantly leading influences in this competitive film market. We even have provision for Short term workshops and corporate program for the film and digital media enthusiasts who wish to learn about the film arena in a short discourse of time.
