Diploma in Editing & VFX

The one-year Diploma in Editing & VFX at Kantipur Film Academy (KFA) is perfect for those who want to dive into the world of film editing and visual effects. This program blends practical skills and theoretical knowledge, giving students the tools they need for a successful career. You’ll learn to master editing techniques, color grading, VFX, motion graphics, and more using industry-standard software like Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro. The course also covers sound design, compositing, and green screen work, with real-world projects that involve collaboration with directors and the film crew. Graduates can explore careers in editing, VFX, motion graphics, and other roles in films, TV shows, ads, and digital content creation.

Classes run 2 hours a day, Sunday to Friday, with additional time for editing projects and collaboration across departments. Whether you’re a beginner or have prior experience, this course will help you hone your craft. The program is taught in both English and Nepali, ensuring it’s accessible to everyone. Upon completion, your thesis project will be launched on Kantipur Cinemas, our own OTT platform, providing an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and start your career and giving you the chance to showcase your work to a broader audience, including industry professionals who will offer valuable feedback.

Admission procedure

Students must fill out the admission form.
1 passport-sized photograph.
1 photocopy of citizenship, passport, or license (student + parent/guardian).
1 photocopy of academic certificates.
Student must bring their parent/guardian at the time of admission.

Eligibility

No higher academic degree/qualifications required, but applicants must be passionate, dedicated film enthusiasts.
Basic speaking and writing skills in Nepali and English, along with basic computer knowledge, are required.

Fee structure

The total fee for the One-Year Diploma in Editing & VFX is NRS 1,50,000, payable in three installments:

NRS 70,000 at the time of admission
NRS 40,000 in the fourth month after classes begin
NRS 40,000 in the eighth month after classes begin

Note: There are no hidden charges, and the academy covers the shooting costs. However, students are responsible for their thesis expenses, and no discounts are available.
